Orange team for DW GMF 2018 is four bright young journalists from all over the world. We’ve got media makers from Russia, Ukraine, India, and Estonia, studying and working across Europe, and bringing different perspectives and skills. We are excited to be in Bonn, and we want to share the experience and innovative ideas heard and shared during the event.
Anna Romandash is a journalist and social media expert from Ukraine. She is a board member of Digital Communication Network, a 4,000+ community of media and tech professionals from CEE and Central Asia. Anna was named Media Freedom Ambassador for Ukraine in 2015 for freedom of expression reporting. She is involved with European Youth Press/Orange as a project coordinator and reports on international events related to human rights, data, and media. Anna is currently pursuing her Master’s degree at Charles University in Prague, where she majors in European politics and society; she has previously studied Journalism and Communications at Danish School of Media and Journalism and Ukrainian Catholic University. Her areas of interest include Internet Governance, mobile journalism, and media startups.
Marina Savchenko is a freelance journalist and coordinator of new media projects. She has graduated in European Studies from the Europe-Institute Klaus Mehnert. With an interest in digital media, mobile journalism, and women’s rights, she is also an Orange journalist and has been involved with European Youth Press projects for three years now. In 2016, Marina was elected an EYP board member. She believes that one look is worth a thousand words and is positive that digital media can help connecting young people from all over the world and challenge stereotypes.
Caroline Paul Kanjookaran is a freelance journalist. Her areas of expertise include features, newsletters, web content, SEO articles, interviews, book reviews, etc. Caroline is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Sustainability in Germany.
Mariell Raisma is a media professional with five years of experience in Media and Communication. She is a guest lecturer at Estonian Entrepreneurship University of Applied Sciences and a Board Member of European Youth Press. Mariell has been a contributor for Estonian Public Broadcasting (ERR) and has been a Media Educator for nearly four years. Currently, she is dedicated to Ruba Media which focuses on educating people about different Communication and Media topics. Mariell has a BA in Journalism from Tallinn University. Currently, she is studying for her MA in Communication. Some of her major areas of interest are Mediatization, Media Literacy (especially Social Media Verification and Communication with the Press), Media Education, and Narratology.
