The Hamburg Model United Nations Press Team joined forces with Orange magazine to cover the biggest MUN in Germany. The team includes Orange’s editor Dobriyana Tropankeva and the young journalists Merle Must, Jana Pecikiewicz and Nathalie Nowak.
What is “HamMUN”?
Since 1998, students from Germany, Europe and all around the world come to Hamburg to participate in a unique MUN conference that sets standards. In the past 10 years, the HamMUN became the biggest conference of its kind in Germany, attracting both MUN newbies and veterans.
In 2012, about 400 participants met at the HamMUN conference. Most of them were amazed by the wonderful experience they had, many of them will come back this year. But new participants are always welcome! You can apply either alone or with some friends from your University.
The conference is held in English, but you do not have to be a professional speaker to take part and have fun. There is a rules workshop where new participants can learn the required conversation skills.
HamMUN 2013 will, for the first time in its history, overcome the traditional format of “Model United Nations” by committing itself to a unique thematic concept: Taking Sustainability Seriously – Resolutions for Environmental Balance, Peace and Social Justice. This approach will let the participants develop a new multidimensional understanding of sustainability and its interdisciplinary implications.
