On 21 and 22 November 2008, over 350 investigative journalists from all over the globe were in Brussels for the first edition of the European Investigative Journalism Conference. Through panel discussions, hands-on training sessions and debates the participants shared their views on how to investigate the European Union, Commission, and Parliament as well as other powerhouses that shape the future of Europe and its inhabitants. The conference was organized by the VVOJ, the Dutch-Flemish Association of Investigative Journalists.
